Abstract
The study focuses on collecting and examining the narrations of Ḥumayd ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Ḥumayrī that were identified as defective due to discrepancies in their transmission, as recorded in al-Dāraquṭnī’s al-ʿIlal. One of the reasons for selecting this topic is that the researcher did not find any previous study devoted specifically to this subject. The significance of the study stems from the importance of the science of ʿIlal (hidden defects in ḥadīth) and, in particular, from the significance of al-Dāraquṭnī’s al-ʿIlal. The study aims to provide a biographical account of Ḥumayd ibn ʿAbd al- Raḥmān, collect and examine his defective narrations, and assess their authenticity. Giving precedence to the majority was one of the evidentiary indicators relied upon by al-Dāraquṭnī. The study recommends paying greater attention to works on ʿIlal in general, as well as to the narrations of transmitters whose defective narrations involving discrepancies in transmission have not yet been studied.
الملخص
تتلخص فكرة البحث في جمع مرويّّات حميد بن عبد الرحمن الحميري المعلّّة بالاختلاف عليه في علل الدراقطني ودراستها، وكان من أسباب اختيار هذا الموضوع أ ينّي لم أقف على من أفرده بالبحث، وترجع أهمية البحث لأهمية علم العلل ثم أهمية كتاب العلل للدارقطني، ومن أهدافه ترجمة حميد بن عبد الرحمن، وجمع مروياته المعلّّة ودراستها والحكم عليها، والترجيح بالأكثرية أحد القرائن التي اعتمدها الحافظ الدارقطني، وجاء في التوصيات: العناية بكتب العلل عمومًًا، وبأحاديث الرواة الذين لم تدرس مروياتهم المعلّّة عنهم بالاختلاف عليهم.
