Abstract

This research deals with the verification (Tahqiq) of the manuscript titled “Daf’ al-Raybah ‘an Hadith Umm Habibah” by the scholar Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Umar al-Khafaji (d. 1069 AH). The study is divided into two main sections: The Descriptive Study: This section introduces the author and the manuscript. It covers the author’s name, lineage, birth, death, his pursuit of knowledge, scholarly status, and his written works. It also verifies the manuscript’s attribution to the author and discusses its subject matter and the author’s methodology. The Critical Edition (Verification): This section focuses on establishing the correct text and comparing it with the original sources from which the author quoted. It includes the documentation and authentication (Takhrij) of the Hadiths mentioned. The research concludes with a summary of the most significant results, such as confirming the authenticity of the manuscript’s attribution to Al-Khafaji. It also highlights that most scholarly interpretations of the Hadith in question are considered weak. The strongest view—which is the weakening of the Hadith itself—was rejected by the author, who instead interpreted the Hadith metaphorically (Majaz) rather than literally.

الملخص

هذا البحث يتناول تحقيق رسالة دفع الريبة عن حديث أم حبيبة، للعالم أحمد بن محمد بن عمر الخفاجي، المتوفى سنة ( 1069 ه)، وقد قسمته إلى قسمين: قسم الدراسة، وفيه التعريف بالمؤلف، والمخطوط، فعرفت أولا بالمؤلف اسما ونسباًً، ومولده ووفاته، وطلبه للعلم، ومكانته العلمية ومؤلفاته، ثم عرفت بالمخطوط، وحققت نسبته للمؤلف، وذكرت موضوع المخطوط ومنهج المؤلف، وأمّّا القسم الثاني فهو قسم التحقيق، وتناولت ضبط النص والمقارنة بين النص والمصادر التي نقل منها، مع تخريج الأحاديث، ثم ذكرت الخاتمة، وذكرت أهم النتائج فيها، كصحة نسبة المخطوط إلى المؤلف، وأن أغلب توجيهات العلماء للحديث تتسم بالضعف، وأقواها: تضعيف الحديث، وقد رده ا لمؤلف، وحمل الحديث على المجاز لا الحقيقة.
