Abstract

Research Topic: The Overall Methodology of Imam al-Bukhari (d. 256 AH) in his Sahih: A Descriptive Statistical Study All praise is due to Allah alone, and peace and blessings be upon the one after whom there is no prophet. This work presents a scholarly paper that serves the Sahih of Imam al-Bukhari, employing a descriptive statistical approach. This involves tracing and enumerating the related elements of the book, and describing its overall methodology through Ibn Hajar’s Fath al-Bari. The importance of this research lies in its intellectual connection to the Sahih of Imam al-Bukhari, considering the book’s scholarly and practical value, the eminence of its author, and the consensus of the Muslim community on its authenticity. The research aims to: determine the scholarly title of Sahih al-Bukhari, clarify its criteria, highlight its overall methodology in arranging its chapters and chapter headings, explain its inclusion of hadiths in its Sahih, including those with suspended or incomplete chains of transmission, clarify the purpose of hadith repetition and fragmentation, and enumerate the related elements within Sahih al-Bukhari. Among the most important findings of the research were: that the title of the scholarly work indicates the author’s intention and overall methodology; that his purpose in his “Sahih” is to include hadiths with complete chains of transmission; that the statements he includes are for corroboration and to strengthen his chosen positions on scholarly and practical matters; that he sometimes presents a single hadith in multiple places rather than in its entirety; and that the number of hadiths repeated with their chains of transmission and texts in the original and supporting narrations is 107.

The most prominent recommendation of the research is to serve Sahih al-Bukhari in its entirety, focusing on its chains of transmission, texts, knowledge, jurisprudence, methodology, and craftsmanship. This is due to the esteemed position this great work holds in the hearts of Muslims since its compilation, as it is the most authentic book after the Book of Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, and has been widely accepted by the Muslim community.

الملخص

موضوع البحث: مجمل منهج الإمام البخاري )ت 256 ه( في «صحيحه » دراسة إحصائية وصفية الحمد لله وحده، والصلاة والسلام على من لا نبي بعده، أما بعد: فقد قدم هذا العمل ورقة علمية تخدم «صحيح الإمام البخاري ،» وسلك المنهج الإحصائي الوصفي، من حيث: تتبع متعلقات الكتاب، وحصرها، ووصف منهجه على وجه الإجمال من خلال فتح الباري لابن حجر. وتظهر أهمية البحث: في ارتباطه المعرفي بصحيح الإمام البخاري، من حيث قيمة الكتاب العلمية والعملية، مع إمامة مصنفه، وشهود الأمة له بالصحة. ويهدف إلى: معرفة الاسم العلمي لصحيح البخاري، وبيان شرطه، وإبراز مجمل منهجه في ترتيب كتبه، وتراجمه، وبيان إيراده للأحاديث في صحيحه، الموقوفات، والمعلقات، وكذلك بيان المراد من تكرار الأحاديث وتقطيعها، وإحصاء المتعلقات في صحيح البخاري. وكان من أهم نتائج البحث: أنّّ عنوان الكتاب العلمي دال على مراد مصنفه، ومجمل منهجه فيه، وأنّّ مقصوده في «صحيحه » الأحاديث المسندة، وأنّّ ما يورده من موقوفات؛ للاستئناس والتقوية لما يختاره في المسائل العلمية والعملية، وأنه يقطّّع الحديث الواحد في مواضع، ولا يسوقه بتمامه، وعدد الأحاديث التي تكررت بإسنادها ومتنها في الأصول والمتابعات ) 107 حديثًًا(. وأبرز توصيات البحث: خدمة صحيح البخاري من جميع أجزائه سندًًا ومتنًًا، وعل امًا وفقهًًا، ومنهجًًا وصناعة؛ وذلك لمكانة هذا السفر العظيم في قلوب المسلمين منذ تأليفه، وهو أصح كتاب بعد كتاب الله تبارك وتعالى، وقد تلقته الأمة بالقبول.
