Abstract
This study explores the cultural context and creative writing in constructing the travel narrative in Saudi literature. The travel text is viewed as a creative form of writing that draws upon cultural, geographical, and intellectual backgrounds in its formation and structure. Owing to these foundations, the travel narrative exerts influence on its cultural framework and opens itself to other fields of knowledge in its textual construction. Such influence enables both the author and the reader to ensure its presence and continuity. Ultimately, travel literature belongs to the creative self in all its cultural contexts.The study adopts the text of the writer Yahya Abdullah Al-Mualimi, “A Scientific Journey and Other Journeys,” as a model of travel narratives in Saudi literature. Its aim is to uncover the cultural context in the writing of the text and the creative act in its aesthetic reception, in an attempt to highlight the importance of travel writing. The research seeks to answer what the travel discourse reveals in its structure of artistic and aesthetic values, what cultural impact it presents within its subjective context and textual construction, and what it also offers the reader through its creative dimension, aesthetic reception, and awareness of its value. The study employs the descriptive-analytical method to reveal the aesthetic dimensions of the cultural context and the act of writing in the travel narrative, by examining the subjective and objective aspects of the studied personality.
الملخص
تتناول الدراسة السياق الثقافي والكتابة الإبداعية في بناء النص الرحلي في الأدب السعودي؛ بوصف النص الرحلي نصاًً إبداعياًً يمتلك خلفيات معرفية وثقافية وجغرافية في تشكيله وطريقة بنائه، ولما له من مقومات تأثير في نسقه الثقافي وانفتاحه على مجالات معرفية أخرى في تشكيله النصي، هذا التأثير جعل من المبدع والقارئ للنص تحقيق مدى توفره وضمان استمراريته، فهو أدب ينتمي للذات المبدعة بمجمل سياقاتها الثقافية.وقد اتخذت الدراسة نص الأديب يحيى عبد الله المعلمي «رحلة علمية ورحلات أخرى » نموذجا من النصوص الرحلية في الأدب السعودي؛ بغية كشف السياق الثقافي في كتابة النص، والفعل الإبداعي في جمالية تلقيه في سعينا لبيان أهمية الكتابة الرحلية. في محاولة للإجابة عما يكشفه الخطاب الرحلي في بنيته من قيم فنية وجمالية. وما يقدمه من أثر ثقافي في سياقه الذاتي وبنائه النصي. وما يقدمه أيضاًً للقارئ في فعله الإبداعي وجمالية تلقيه والوعي بقيمته. واستندت على المنهج الوصفي التحليلي في الكشف عن جمالية السياق الثقافي وفعل الكتابة في النص الرحلي من خلال تناوله للجوانب الذاتية والموضوعية للشخصية المدروسة.
