Abstract

Within the structure of creative narratives, the Place is considered one the important elements especially in the literature of personal resumés. This is due to it being an element well connected to other elements such as time, character and action.The Place’s importance in the literature of personal résumés is not limited to its convergence with other previously mentioned elements, but also the fact of it being a global reference that exceeds the indication to the physical phenomena. The Place does not necessarily mean the geographical axes alone but can imply its broader meaning which includes an ecosystem of people, land, incidents and struggles. This broader meaning is emphasized when linked to sacred places due to their historical and cultural effects.The emphasis mentioned is what drives this research to focusing on the city of Makkah and its embodiment into the literature of literary figures which manifests the ways in which they pictured life in Makkah and social traditions of its people in addition to their rituals and private routines during Hajj and Umrah.The research is also driven to explore the techniques of literati and how their narratives embody the description of sacred places, especially when the Saudi Arabian resumés of Makkah came out as variable and with different scopes and views such as from work or studying abroad point of views or even from an entirely religious point of view.

الملخص

يُعد المكان من العناصر المهمة في تكوين النص الإبداعي السردي، خاصة في أدب السيرة الذاتية، لأنه عنصر يتصل اتصالاً وثيقاً بالعناصر السردية الأخرى كالزمن والشخصية والحدث. كما أن أهميته في السيرة الذاتية لا تتوقف على التعالق مع العناصر المكونة للسرد وإنما هو مكون واسع الدلالة لا يقتصر على المرجعيات الطبيعية، فالمكان (لا يعني الدلالة الجغرافية المحدودة المرتبطة بمساحة محددة في الأرض في منطقة ما وإنما أريد به دلالته الواسعة التي تتسع لتشمل البيئة بأرضها وناسها وأحداثها وهمومها) .وتزداد قيمة المكان إذا ارتبط بالأماكن المقدسة، لما لها من مكانة عظيمة وأبعاد ثقافية مختلفة وسمات فكرية. واستناداً لهذه الأهمية المكانية للمكان المقدس، سعى هذا البحث لرصد صورة مكة المكرمة وتمثيلاتها في كتابات الأدباء الذاتية، موضحاً أبعاد وطرائق تصويرهم للحياة المكية بعاداتها الاجتماعية وطقوسها المختلفة، وكيفيات رصدهم لخصوصيتها في مواسم الحج والعمرة. كما ركّز البحث على الكشف عن تقنيات الأدباء في سردهم وآلياتهم في تجسيم وصف المكان المقدس، ولا سيما أن السير الذاتية السعودية التي تحدثت عن مكة المكرمة حضرت متنوعة السياقات، فهناك من تناولها من منظور العمل، أو منظور قاصديها للدراسة أو منظور ديني.
